Are you a current or ex-smoker who often has trouble achieving a satisfying slumber? Well, according to this recent study examining bedtime routines, it may be because you’re consuming too much nicotine before hitting the pillows at night. Find out how your sleep quality may be the result of your heavy smoking habits.

The study

New research published in the journal, Sleep, suggests that the key to a good night’s rest could be as simple as cutting down on your daily nicotine intake. The study was led by a researcher at Florida Atlantic University — with help from Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard University, Emory University, the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and the National Institutes of Health — and focused on the consumption of alcohol, caffeine, and nicotine in 785 subjects over a combined total of 5,164 days.

Participants were asked to keep a daily sleep diary, logging their substance intake four hours before going to bed. There was a specific section of data that was collected to determine how nicotine impacted their sleep cycle. Other factors, such as age, gender, and stress, were also considered in the results.

What were the results?

The study found that nicotine was particularly harsh on people with insomnia and resulted in a 40-minute reduction in their quality of sleep. In fact, nicotine was the most common substance keeping people up at night leading doctors assisting the research to encourage subjects’ post-study to limit nicotine consumption if they have recurring sleep trouble.

How to decrease your nicotine intake using a Logic vape pen

The process of weaning yourself from your addiction to nicotine can be challenging, especially if your fixation extends beyond a physical dependency. Though combating your addiction to nicotine can be done with the help of e-cigs.

Before you first purchase a Logic vape pen you will want to research the selection of products available, then pick one that corresponds to your current smoking habits. This means that if you’re a heavy smoker who’s used to the “toss and go” convenience of combustible cigarettes, you will find your match made in heaven when you grab hold of a Logic Disposable Electronic Cigarette. Offered in 3.5% and 2.4% nicotine, these vigorous Logic vape pens have the power to fulfill your active nicotine dependency. However, since coordinating habits are a crucial element when making your transition, for those who are medium to light smokers who enjoy a more moderate nicotine strength the Logic Pro Advanced vapor system would be better suited to your style. Offered in a casual 1.8% or 1.6%, these e-cigs are the perfect lightweight nicotine technology, allowing the user to slowly halt their nicotine needs over time. Not only does this option come in a wider selection of flavors, but it’s also a great substitution for your bedtime routine because the lower your nicotine levels are at sleep time, the more comfortable and deeper your sleep will be.
